LOYALTY TO THE SPLM CHAIRMAN MUST BE THE CRITERION OF RETURN.
September 17, 2015; by T.T. Shaka. This was the subject article in Sudan Tribune by Amb. Gordon Buay on 2015-09-10 to the Nation and the world to hear. I am still stunned if Mr. Gordon was writing this article as a professional, a Layer or a politician? At any rate, if he wrote it as an ordinary citizen and hand-picked to become an Ambassador wherever he is, I don’t blame him. But if he is from one of the disciplines underlined earlier, then, there is something wrong. He must have misled a lot of people in his position as an Ambassador.
Loyalty goes to the party principles but not to individuals in a party because leaders come and leaders go. What is needed should be respect for everyone even though you agreed to disagree in opinions with each other. Nobody is big and nobody is small as long as you are working for common goal. If Kiir has not respected the people who put him there, does he deserve loyalty?
Mr. Gordon, if your loyalty to Kiir is to retain the position of being an Ambassador, you are doing it in a wrong way. We are a young nation maybe with little or no experiences but it is common sense to avoid some jargons that will destroy the image of our country. Kiir doesn’t owe anybody or the country. He should have known that he is a servant like anybody in the country.
When Pagan Amum decided to follow his conscious, it was for the good of the nation. Amb Gordon you seemed to value your loyalty to Kiir more than the Nation. I suppose you know Kiir is self-imposed and illegitimate President in the country. You tried to bring in Jesus to justify your reasoning but do not understand his relation with Christians. It is not loyalty Christians have with Jesus but they believe and trust in him as their only savior who sacrificed his life for them. What has Kiir sacrificed for his nation?
I hope in our next government, Ambassadors will be selected according to their dynamism but not hand-picked. We want results but not number and quantity but quality. It is a pity Ambassador Gordon is never ashamed to see hundreds and thousands of innocent civilians are forced to flee their homes everyday caused by his master whom he adores. Mr. Ambassador, learn to fear God and not a human being if indeed you claim to be educated. How would you feel if you were one of those living in UN camps, in the forest in the rain, beaten by mosquitoes, snakes and sleeping hungry? Do you not consider yourself lucky eating and sleeping in a comfortable environment?
Mr. Ambassador, avoid blaming people like Pagan Amum and anybody who takes the right decision for the interests of the nation. Evaluate what people say or do. You are entitled to your opinion being it right or wrong but please do not tell us that we should all pay our loyalty to a criminal the likes of Salva Kiir who always rules the country with absolute decrees for the past ten your plus on throne. Kiir who become a present and chairman of SPLA by chance has ruined our dignities and have reduced our images at international arena.
