SUSPECTED DINAK BOR HERDERS GUNNED DOWN THE CHIEF OF LIWOLO BOMA IN KAJO-KEJI COUNTY

Kajo-keji, 17 January 2023; Suspected Dinka Bor herders gunned down the traditional Chief of Mangolotore Boma located in Liwolo Payam in Kajo-Keji County, Central Equatoria State. 

An eyewitness who spoke to this publication from Liwolo Paym, in Kajo-Keji County identified the deceased as chief Charles Tomilyan Sebong, Chief Charles according to the eyewitness, he was gunned down within the perimeter of his home. 

The same eyewitness said there were six armed men suspected to be Dinka Bor cattle herders ambushed chief Charles after the chief was invited by his Boma community to investigate the destruction of food crops by the cows belonging to Dinka Bor herders who invaded the area about a week ago.  

"They came six in number, all of the are armed with AK47s and suddenly I heard bang, bang and then I saw in a distance the chief fell, people began to run in fear for their lives." lamented the eyewitness. 

According to the eyewitness, chief Charles was shot four times in the chest and he died instantly. 

According to the report, the situation in Liwolo is tense and disastrous, many returnees who had recently returned to their ancestral homes from Uganda are heading back towards the border area of Afoji, Moyo District in Uganda. 

Local population who are running from their homes said security agencies are nowhere to be seen in the area, hence, the gunmen from Dinka Bor are roaming at will and killing people with impunity.
