Juba, 17 December 2022; A deadly attempted robbery in the vicinity of the Bank of South Sudan in the capital Juba was foiled by security forces. The failed attempted robbery left at least four people dead and a score of others were wounded.  It was not immediately clear whether those shot dead were the robbers or bystanders. 

Shortly after the incident, the Bank of South Sudan released a statement saying the incident happened outside the Bank and the security forces were quick to quell the situation. 

The top management of the Bank of South Sudan said the incident, which occurred this evening was not inside the Bank as reported by some social media networks. 

"The incident occurred outside the bank and was quelled by the security forces, the situation is now calm," reads the statement released by the Bank of South Sudan. 

However, it remains unclear whether the robbers were arrested as the identities of those who were killed remained unknown.
