AT LEAST 7 PEOPLED KILLED IN BONGO BUS AMBUSH ON JUBA-NIMULE HIGHWAY ON TUESDAY

Amee, 09 August 2022; At least seven people died on Tuesday morning in the Juba-Nimule highway ambush. Tuesday morning ambush incident took place at Amee junction.  

Several survivors who spoke to this publication said the Bongo Bus coming from Juba Enroute to Nimule fell into an ambush after leaving Obama's guest house, the survivors said the gunmen dress similar to the South Sudan People's Defense Forces (SSPDF) the national army of South Sudan. 

There are seven confirmed dead while scores others were injured and taken to Juba for treatment, three bodies were brought to Nimule Hospital, and four more bodies were said to have been taken to Juba. 

Police in Nimule confirmed the ambush but they cannot give the exact figure as there are no details about the incident.  

Report incidents that several passengers of the Bongo Bus could have been taken to the bush by the gunmen, while others could have sought safety in the bush. 

Dinka businessmen own Bongo Bus company and it mainly perates on the Juba-Nimule Road. The identities and the nationalities of those killed remained unknown.
