Juba, 20 April 2021; Three days since South Sudan President left for South Africa for what J1 described as a state visit, since then the J1 also known as the Presidential palace remains mouth tight on the so-called state visit to South Africa for peace consultation.
Before leaving for South Africa President Kiir was captured on a short video clip saying" Riek Machar is determined to be the President of South Sudan, he [Machar] always wants to be number two to me [Kii], so that whenever I am going to my state visit, he wants to assume the office of the Presidency and when I die, he wants to be the President"
Such remark by the head of state who is a signatory to 2018, Khartoum peace agreement can stair the water, and will leave many to suggest what this president is after.
Meanwhile, after the Presidential Palace remained lip zipped, an inside source from J1 who spoke to this publication in the condition of anonymity due to the fear of retribution to his life, divulged to SSLN that indeed President Kiir is in a poor state of health, therefore he is in South Africa for specialized treatment though the source couldn't open say under what state of health Mr. Kiir is suffering from.
The source further said Mr. Kiir was accompanied by two of his South Sudanese personal Doctors, and one of his daughters whose details were not made available.
South Sudan Liberty News cannot independently verify the state of poor health Mr. Kiir is in, however, the absence of media coverage of President Kiir's visit to South Africa by state-run SSBC explains a lot, why would the President be met from the airport by South Africa minister of foreign affairs if the visit is a state visit? why would the President overstay? why were those reshuffles done unexpectedly before the President set off to South Africa?
Rumors of the President’s poor health surfaced first in 2020, that Mr. Kiir was scheduled to see his Germany Doctors in Germany for possible liver transplanting, some sources, however, suggested that Mr. Kiir couldn’t leave for Germany because it is suspected some people in his government will overthrow his government. At the time many sources said among those who are eying on the country’s top job were Akol Koor Kuc the Director of National Security Services, and Nhial Deng Nhial who is not the former Minister in the office of the President.
