Juba, 17 January 2021; Deputy spokesperson of South Sudan People's Defense Force, Brig general Santo Dominic has launched an accusation against Episcopal Church of South Sudan, Rt Reverend Archbishop of Central Equatoria internal Diocese, Bishop Paul Pitia Yugusuk.
Santo Dominic the deputy mouthpiece of SSPDF has accused the church leader of spreading lies against what he called the well-established institution of SSPDF.
He accused the outspoken man of God of spreading international lies against the liberation forces of South Sudan.
General Santo was responding to the report of Archbishop Paul, where on 12 January Archbishop Paul reported the incident of the killing of a catholic catechist Isaac Lujang, and other civilians in Loka west. The outspoken man of God accused SSPDF of killing Christians and forcing a group of church women that belong to the Revival group to drink alcohol at gunpoint on Christmas day.
However, a couple of days ago Santo Dominic the deputy spokesperson of SSPDF refuted the report of the Archbishop, saying the catechist was killed in a crossfire between Mundari cattle keepers and NAS forces under the leadership of Gen Thomas Cirilo.
However, testimonies from eyewitnesses from Loka west faulted and rebuked Santo Dominic the deputy spokesperson of SSPDF, to be frank, and honest. The eyewitnesses further verified the gang-raping of a 70year old grandmother by SSPDF.
The incident of forcing a group of women to drink alcohol at gun-points drew bitterness from the general public towards SSPDF forces in Loka West, the area MP since then called for the immediate redeployment of the SSPDF force from the area. However, the SSPDF field commander under whose Juridification the incident happened has since said the incident was an isolated case and said the perpetrators been apprehended and waiting for military trial.
