Juba, South Sudan: The long-awaited Revitalized Transitional Government of National Unity is in serious question, as Dr. Riek Machar has reiterated his bold decision after the man had learned an unforgettable lesson from his narrow escape in a 40 days walk through the thick forest of Equatoria rain forest into DR Congo in 2016 after President Kiir pursued to eliminate him. Ironically, it is the same Kiir now promising to protect him while refusing to honor the agreement in Practice and implementations.
A blow to the face of the so-called UN security council ambassadors who visited Juba in a push for the leaders of South Sudan to compromise their stance to form Unity government by 12 November.
while in Juba, the UN security Council play their games in favor of the Incumbent President, however, the called for the immediate formation of the National unity government failed to yield the pressure to bend Machar to accept the proposal of Juba.
Machar left Juba amid heavy cloud hanging over Juba, (Monday after) and it was not immediately clear when the two Principal leaders will meet again in trying to resolve the core outstanding issues.
Dr. Machar made his stance known while leaving back to Khartoum on-board Sudanese airplane," we cannot be part of the unity government without a unified army, we love this country and we do not want to slide back into civil" said Machar.
An official from Machar's camp who spoke to SSLN in the condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to media echoed Machar's statement, " talks between Kiir and Machar has flatly failed to bear any concrete or substantial result over the outstanding issues and time is running out for the formation of a unity government," he added, " we the SPLA-IO would therefore not be part of the so-called unity government unless a unified army is created,"
He further added, "If security arrangements are not implemented, this country will automatically slide back into civil war. We want first to have one unified national army in this country whose mandate will be to protect the sovereignty of this country and her people"
Several South Sudanese and Machar's supporters applauded his bold decision. Many have taken on Facebook to express their frustration in condemning the UN security ambassadors specially the South African ambassador Mr. Mathew Matjila, one viewer has bitter words for Ambassador Matjila, " you are evil and your evil plan will not prevail, South Sudan will be better off without your involvements because you are imposing a killer on the people he oppress and killed"
