SPLA-IO TABAN GAI MILITARY SPOKESPERSON DICKSON GATUAK REIGNED

30 December 2018;The military spokesperson of SPLA-IO, Taban Deng Gai, Colonel Dickson Gatluak Jock Nyuot,  has resigned and announced to form his new political party to dislodge the incumbent President Salva Kiir from enjoying the country's top job in the expenses of the impoverished citizens.

It was not immediately clear when will, Col Dickson Gatluak who is a relatively unknown figure, will lunch his new political party.

Dickson Gatluak like his boss Taban Deng Gai, before becoming high profile in then the breakaway SPLA-IO under Taban Deng Gai, he was a junior soldier but after the July 2016 fighting in Juba, he was quickly promoted to the post of Col and made to be the military spokesperson of SPLA-IO, breakaway.

“I do hereby declare and inform the general public that today, 30 December 2018, I have unanimously abandoned the government of South Sudan and opted to form a new political party to oppose the current regime," partly read the statement seen by SSLN.

Col Gatluak cited lack of political willingness and corruption to implement the peace agreement between his boss Taban Gai and President Salva Kiir and many other more have prompted him to resign from his post.

Col Gatluak particularly singled out Taban Deng Gai for practicing corruption, nepotism, and discrimination among others.

he also lashes at his former boss Gai for desolvation and integration of SPLA-IO breakaway into mainstream SPLA-IG without consultations.

Col Gatluak blamed Taban Gai and Kiir for abandoning the combatants of SPLA-IO into their cantonment areas for months without food and other necessities. According to Gatluak the combatants are cantoned and left to suffer in Bentiu, Unity state.

He said his party would work to achieve a Federal system of governance whereby power will be divided among three former colonial regions of Equatoria, Upper Nile, and Baher El Gazal.
