AT LEAST108 GOVERNMENT SOLDIERS WERE KILLED IN RESUMPTION OF FIGHTING IN KAJO-KEJI

Kajo-keji, 15 September 2018; Just hours after President Kiir and South Sudan's oppositions have signed a final peace agreement in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa on Wednesday. The government forces launch aggressive attacks on SPLA-IO bases in Kajo-keji County. Sources from Kajo-keji revealed South Sudan Liberty News in a phone interview on Friday morning, that the government forces came in ten [10] trucks, seven [7] trucks which enter at Mangalatore area were repulsed leaving behind 107 dead bodies from Juba regime forces.  

One of the area commanders of SPLA-IO who asked for his identity to be withheld because he was not authorized by his superiors to talk to media said at least 108 dead bodies of government forces were counted by Friday afternoon, and unspecified numbers have sustained injuries.  

He further said they have also benefited from numbers of weapons and ammunition they captured from enemy forces. while asked how many causalities they have taken, he admitted they lost 4 freedom fighters while seven were slightly have sustained injuries though their injuries are not life-threatening.  

Meanwhile, Col Lam Gabriel Paul, the deputy military spokesperson of Machar's group confirmed to SSLN," Friday morning that at about 9:30 am, anti-peace elements of the SPLA IG launched an attack on our base in Mangalatore in Kajo-Keji County, however, they were repulsed with heavy losses.  

Col Lam further said in a similar manner, some anti-peace elements of the SPLA IG are still cowardly continuing with their skirmishes by attacking the defensive positions of the SPLA-IO.  

Early this morning the 14/09/2018 at about 7:15 am, the regime’s forces heavily stormed our position at Mundu in Lainya county but our gallant SPLA-IO repulsed them with significant losses. The remnants are being pursued towards Jamara which they recaptured from us a few days ago.
