Kampala, 5 Sept 2018; A top Ugandan retired general whose full identity we are withholding due to the sensitivity of the matter, revealed to South Sudan liberty news that Uganda is preparing to redeploy UPDF into South Sudan, in particular to pagri county.
The former top UPDF general who holds a top ministerial post said Uganda is determined to ensure the recent peace agreement signed in the Sudanese capital Khartoum should be honored and implemented. The top former army four stars general said the peace agreement is fair and balanced as all the fighting forces from all sides will be cantoned in designated areas to confine the fighting forces away from civilians populated areas before the armies will be integrated into one joint national army to build confidence.
However, the top former four stars general said the solid aim to redeploy UPDF into neighboring South Sudan will entirely be to chase away the Dinka IDPs who are roaming with their cows into farming land in Pageri and other counties in Greater Equatoria. He said Uganda realized with the presence of occupiers the native Madi people will not return to their homeland even if final peace is reached.
He further said president Kiir failed to repatriate the cattle owners because the cows belong to some senior SPLA generals. The farmer Ugandan four stars general further said it is now a matter of time for Uganda to puts its boots on the ground to chase the illegal occupying forces.
However, it remains unclear how this will happen but he stressed that to cut the influx of more incoming of refugees into Uganda, Uganda has to guarantee safety for minority and deprived ethnic groups in Equatoria to an able the Equatorians to remain in their places which at the moment he said Ugandan government is well aware of the occupying forces from President Kiir's ethnic Dinka tribe sitting on those lands illegal.
