Nairobi, December 2017: Kenyan security agents in collaboration with South Sudan National Security Service agents based in Kapoata have on Friday evening 29 December 2017, kidnaped and abducted SPLA- IO appointed Governor for Kapoeta State; Maj General Marko Lokidor Lochapio.

According to a relative of Gen Marko Lokidor, who spoke to SSLN in condition of anonymity said the rebel appointed governor Marko Lokidor was kidnapped from Kakuma Refugee camp, in Kenya. It was however, not clear what is the highly profile individual the likes of brig Lokidor was doing in Kakuma refugee camp at the time he was kidnapped.

Meanwhile SPLA-IO deputy military spokesperson, Col Lam Paul Gabriel confirmed to this reporter, that Kenyan security agents were involved in kidnapping Governor Lokidor, whom they the security agents of Kenya have driven to Lokichogio that same night and on Saturday 30 December 2017 in the morning hours, Governor Marko Lokidor was taken to Nadapal where he was handed over to South Sudan security personnel.

Lam directly accused the state governor Louis Lobong Lojore, of Namuruyang state curved out of Eastern Equatoria state. "This plan was orchestrated by the Governor of Namurunyang State; Luis Lobong Lojore as he wants to eliminate any possible competition.

This is not the first time Lobong Lojore orchestrated and funded abduction of SPLM/A IO officials. In August/2015 Lobong used the Juba Military Intelligence Unit headed by now Cap. Joseph Ochora in collaboration with some Ugandan security personnel to abduct six (6) SPLA IO officials from Moroto and were taken to Juba. They were tortured and five were killed and drowned into the Nile; however, by God’s grace, one survived to tell the story" said Lam Paul

"The abduction of Governor Lokidor is now the fourth that the Kenyan government has done following the abduction of Spokesperson Cde James Gatdet, Agrey Idri and Dong Luak. This clearly shows how Kenyan government has taken side actively in this senseless war. This abduction is a serious violation of the signed CoH by the government of Juba and its partner in crime the Kenyan government" the statement issued by Col Lam further read.

Col Lam summoned United Nation High commission for Refugees sub-field office in Kakuma to explain to the world why such kidnapped should be allowed unfold in the very watch of UNHCR. "The UNHCR in Kakuma needs to explain to the world how a person seeking asylum and in a protected camp be abducted from their (UNHCR) area of control? " Lam wonders.

He said the leadership of SPLA-IO is seeking immediate and unconditional release of Brig Marko from his illegal deportation and detention. "The SPLA- IO leadership demands the immediate release of Governor Lokidor and those responsible for his abduction be held responsible by TROIKA and the UN as IGAD has already shown partiality in this peace process" ended the statement.
