Pagak, 12 July 2017: The deputy Military spokesperson of SPLA-IO Col Lam Paul Gabriel on Wednesday released press statement in which he categorical refuted the allegation propaganda statement issued by his counterpart in the camp of Taban Gai, about the said three abducted UNICEF subcontractors been detained in Pagak General HQs of SPLA-IO. 

The SPLA -IO strongly refutes the accusation made yesterday 11-07-2017 by the joined press release of Taban Deng Gai's loyalists that it's forces abducted and detained three UNICEF contractors in Pagak. Col Lam in the statement seen by this reporter said, " SPLA- IO under the leadership of Dr. Riek Machar Teny does not harass NGO or UN staffs. These are our partners not enemies". He continued, " If they (the so called adducted detainees) are in Pagak, then they are safe with the civilians in the liberated area." Partly reads the statement. 

The deputy SPLA-IO military spokesperson further said, "The SPLA -IO did not get any formal complaint from UNICEF regarding this baseless accusation; So, when did Agel Machar and Dickson Gatluak become their spokespersons" he questioned. 

About the reports of the recent upsurge of the fighting in Upper Nile around Pagak areas, he directly accused Taban Gai and President Kiir for trying to escalate the situation despite lying to the world about his unilateral cease fire which he violets every day.  "The fight in Mathiang which was geared towards Pagak, was orchestrated by Taban Deng Gai to derail the revitalization process of ARCSS that is already on process yet, and Salva Kiir claimed they are observing ceasefire."  Col Lam added that SPLA- IO under the people's leader is still in full control of Mathiang, Maiwut and Longechuk despite the useless aggression of Taban and Kiir. 

Separately, Lam said the SPLA- IO registered victory in Walgak yesterday the 11-07-2017 where more than 70 government militias were killed by the gallant force of the SPLA -IO under Dr Riek Machar Teny. A claim this reporter cannot independently verify. The militias triggered the fight when they left their trenches in Waat with the aim of capturing Walgak he added. 
Col Lam said beside loss of service men, Juba forces have also suffered colleterial losses of equipment in the fighting of Walgak, according to him their forces have captured four  12.7  in good condition, four vehicles, two RPGs, 10 PKMs and 47 AK47. 
The battle to control Walgak was led by SPLA-IO appointed governor Brig. Gen. Koang Rambang Chol, the caretaker Governor of Bieh state 

Meanwhile he said in Yei, the road leading between Yei and Kaya has been closed again by the SPLA- IO forces of Division 2B after the attack that killed Five civilians in Yondu about a week ago. The SPLA -IO ambushed and killed 13 government militias in Gulumbi on 8-07-2017 and 9 others on the 10-07-2017 near Kaya as they tried to go to Yei.
