DOZEN WERE KILLED IN SOUTH SUPREME PLANE CRASH IN WAR TORN TOWN OF WAU

 

Juba, March 20,2017: More than a dozen passengers were injured after a jet crash-landed and burst into flames in war torn town of Wau, South Sudan. According to Ateny Wek Ateny, the spokesperson of south Sudan President Kiir, the plane is operated by South Supreme Airline, own by local business man Ayiik.

Immediate the plane caught fire and huge smoke has been pictured billowing from the wreckage of the South Supreme Airlines jet at Wau airport.

Officials in capital Juba confirmed 14 dead and 31 were seriously injured. Ateny Wek Ateny said the plane left Juba in the afternoon and it was expected to land at 3:20 pm local time, however eye witness in Wau said the pilot error is mostly like to be the cause of the crash, the witness further said the pilot missed to runway. However, initial reports suggested as many as 44 people had died in the crash including four crew members and the pilot.

However, the manager of South Supreme Airlines dispute any figure of casualties, saying there are no casualties. He said all of the passengers were evacuated from the plane before it was destroyed by the fire.
