September 17th 2016. The alliance for South Sudanese in the Diaspora (ASSD), USA based organizations put out a press release in response to the US Ambassador to the UN Samantha Powers condemning the intimidations and harassments of the Civil Societies in South Sudan. Ambassador Power had lead UN Security Council members to Juba and the team spoke to the Kiir governments, after which they talk to the members of the Religious communities, the Civil Societies and the IDP.

After their return to the USA, the Kiir government thinks to feel that their Citizens might have spoken too much and a Civil Society member, Emmanuel Wani, who handed a document to the Security Council got gun down by the Security agent in Juba to which the Ambassador put out a very unusually strong worded condemnations for such killings and intimidations.
